The proposal of the Centro Cultural España-Córdoba for September '07,
Garbage / Design and
Recycling / sets its
question into the field of
the specific tensions of
our contemporary, urban and environmental
reality.
Our hypotesis is based on the existence of an invisible social network
that does not only
perceives the current
importance of the conflict between production, consume, and waste; but also takes sides as it works with a certain
specific raw matter, that maybe belongs to the frontier of the unnamed; that space of the "third" that relates a
variety of actors and establishes a genuine dialogue between art,
design and our
everyday life.
The collecting, recycling and post production processes activate
mechanisms close to
culture and propose
new
ways of reading the art,
design and production
models.
A get together of cartoneros, craftsmans, artists, writers, designers
that nourish this
multidisciplinar project with
their
work and vision.
An invitation to re-programming the reality in the endless production
and wasting cycle.
Post-produce/re-produce
would be in this case a disposition toward what is useful and what is un-useful; wealth and poverty; a way of
rethinking canons and anticipating what is imminent; opening up the question marks on the processes, materials,
adressees, notion of being an author and the reception of art languages in the close and familiar context of the
objects that surround us.
